The Projects Assistant is an integral part of the ongoing success of this primarily volunteer-run program. While much of the work can be done Monday-Friday, there will be some weekend activities seasonally. Major responsibilities of the position:
Construction & Volunteer Outreach
Outreaching to local organizations and scheduling a year-round volunteer calendar for the worksite. Working with the local organizations on the construction site as well as other days needed for various construction tasks. With over 320 days of sunshine, our Habitat chapter focuses on building passive solar homes. Patience and ability to follow instructions by the Construction Supervisor are more important than construction skills.
Habitat Store
This position will primarily be volunteer outreach and donation procurement. Other responsibilities may include overseeing our online store activity, working on the Store floor, help with promotion and marketing of materials at the Store, organizing reports with the Store Manager and other tasks as needed.
The position has much variety and requires the ability to organize and prioritize tasks. Depending on the skills and interest of the volunteer, as well as the needs/budget of the Habitat chapter in a given year, this position may be set up as a part-time placement in collaboration with another part-time placement site.
