Come and learn about the Anabaptist movement and its history as it celebrates its 500-year anniversary. Join this MMN-guided Youth Venture trip to Germany and Switzerland in May of 2025. Explore significant sites and cities relevant to the 16th century Anabaptist movement and history, along with participating in Mennonite World Conference’s Anabaptism at 500 celebrations, including the Young Anabaptist (YABS) Global Youth Summit. Learn and experience the rich diversity of the global Mennonite church today.
Tentative schedule
- May 23
- Arrive and settle in; explore Zurich
- May 24
- Zurich self-guided walking tour of significant sites related to the Anabaptist movement, including the site of the first adult baptism, the Gross Munster, climbits tower, and more.
- May 25
- MWC @ 100 (join MWC delegates)
- May 26
- Travel to Strasbourg and explore this city and its rich Anabaptist related history.
- May 27
- Tour of Augsburg (join MWC delegates?)
- May 28
- Visit the Täuferhöhle cave (the Anabaptist caves) in which the early Anabaptists hid and worshiped.
- May 29
- Anabaptism @500
- Join the day-long event in Zurich. Participants can choose between workshops, historic tours, music events and more.
