Discover the rich history of the Anabaptist movement, as we commemorate its 500th anniversary with excursions in Germany and Switzerland.
Immerse yourself in the past by visiting pivotal sites from the 16th-century Anabaptist movement. You will visit sites in Switzerland, like Täuferhöhle, a cave where Täufer (Anabaptists) hid and worshiped to evade persecution; and Grossmünster, which is considered the starting point of the Swiss Reformation, where Huldrych Zwingli became the Leutpriester (people’s priest) and ignited the Swiss Reformation by preaching ideas on reform for the Catholic Church.
Experience the vibrant diversity of the contemporary global Mennonite community, through the Mennonite World Conference’s Anabaptism at 500 “The Courage to Love” events in Zürich, Switzerland, with tours, music and a “Story Trail” quest for youth and young adults. The trip will culminate with the Young Anabaptist Global Youth Summit “Empowered by Love” (Inspiriert durch Liebe) in Stuttgart, Germany.
