The Mongolia Mission Partnership is a group of individuals, businesses, and Ohio Mennonite Conference congregations that have come together to support a Mennonite presence in Mongolia through JCS International.
The partnership makes decisions through a leadership team that consists of a leader, treasurer, recorder and an event planner. Partnership activities include an annual banquet, a yearly kick-off service in January, monthly prayer meetings and various fund-raising events.
Laura Schlabach volunteered as the first Mennonite Board of Missions worker to Mongolia. The partnership formed in the Spring of 1993 and Laura was commissioned at the Smithville Mennonite Church. She arrived in Ulaanbaatar in December 1993 to begin work as the finance officer for Joint Christian Services. Other workers followed two years later. From an initial financial support of $16,700, the partnership now raises $105,000 each year for the Mongolia ministries.
