Weaver returns to Mission Network

ELKHART, Ind. (Mennonite Mission Network)—Lyz Weaver joins Mennonite Mission Network as part-time executive office assistant to Stanley W. Green, Mission Network executive director. She began her role May 1 and will transition to full-time work in September, replacing Cindy Miller. Miller, who plans to start a life coach business in California, will share the position with Weaver through the summer.

Green is on sabbatical through September 17.

Weaver is no stranger to Mission Network, having served from 2008 to 2011 as assistant director for the Radical Journey program. Before that, Weaver pastored at Fellowship of Hope Mennonite Church in Elkhart, Ind., for three years, and also served two years as a unit leader for Service Adventure with her husband, Justin. Most recently, Weaver worked with non-native English speakers in the Middlebury, Ind., school system as a second language assistant.

“One of the main things that made me decide to return to Mission Network was the staff,” Weaver said. “The people here have a lot of integrity and passion for what they’re doing, and that’s something I appreciate and look forward to in my new role.”

Weaver, her husband and their teenagers, Alec and Emily, live in Cassopolis, Mich., at Camp Friedenswald, where Justin serves as executive director. They attend Silverwood Mennonite Church in Goshen, Ind.
