Mennonite Mission Network has welcomed six new directors to its leadership team during the past year. Mission Network is committed to innovating for the future of mission, and these new directors are joining teams that are ready to try new things.
Jennifer Hayes
Jennifer Hayes is the new director of marketing and communications. Hayes received her bachelor’s in business administration from Indiana University and her master’s degree from Indiana Technical Institute of Technology in the same field.
"I am passionate about serving others in a non-profit, mission-oriented, faith-based organization," Hayes said. "I am privileged to be chosen to lend my expertise to Mennonite Mission Network."
Ana Alicia Hinojosa
Ana Alicia Hinojosa is the new director of constituent engagement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and psychology from the University of Texas at Brownsville, and a master’s in organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix (Arizona).
"My roots with Mennonite Mission Network go back to my childhood, when my family participated as a house family for our Mennonite Voluntary Service Unit at Iglesia Menonita del Cordero," Hinojosa said. "Coming full circle to work with Mennonite Mission Network alongside the constituent engagement team is the beginning of a new chapter in which, together, we will broaden our relationships with our churches, conferences and constituents to do the work of Jesus as the body of Christ."
Joani Miller
Joani Miller is the director of training and resources. Miller received her Bachelor of Arts from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and her master’s in adult learning, performance and development from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
"This role allows me to bring my professional experiences and education into a missional focus, which is very fulfilling," Miller said. "I appreciate having an opportunity to collaborate with a diverse, globally-minded team and people who are guided by faithful commitments."
Aaron Shenk
Previously a finance manager at Mission Network,
Aaron Shenk has risen to the director of finance. Shenk holds a Certified Public Accountant certification and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from
Goshen (Indiana) College.
"I’m looking forward to providing financial insights and support for the continued upward direction and energy of the organization," Shenk said.
Marissa Stewart
Marissa Stewart is the director of human resources. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana State University. Having already held this position for nearly nine months now, she has gracefully led Mission Network through many transitions.
"I was excited by the opportunity to work for Mission Network as a way to combine my vocational skills and career path with my personal beliefs and love for Christ," Stewart said. "I am grateful to be part of an organization that cares about its employees and that values all that human resources can offer."
Andrew Suderman
Andrew Suderman is the new director of global partnerships. He holds a bachelor’s in theology from Canadian Mennonite Bible College (CMBC) in Winnipeg, Manitoba; a bachelor’s in philosophy from
Canadian Mennonite University (formerly CMBC), a master’s in theological studies from Conrad Grebel University College in Waterloo, Ontario, and a Ph.D. in theology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
"I am so very excited to join the team at Mennonite Mission Network and to learn more about how we’re participating in God’s mission from across the street to around the world," Suderman said. "I’m excited to learn how I can help facilitate this ongoing work, as we seek to participate in and witness to God’s peaceable kin(g)dom in the here and now!"
Hayes, Hinojosa, Miller, Shenk, Stewart, and Suderman join current directors Karen Horseman, director of donor relations, and Tim Yoder, director of information technology. These eight directors will lead Mission Network in innovating for the future of mission.
Mennonite Mission Network, the mission agency of Mennonite Church USA, exists to lead, mobilize and equip the church to participate in holistic witness of Jesus Christ in the world. Mission Network envisions every congregation and all parts of the church being fully engaged in mission — across the street, all through the marketplaces and around the world.
