Global adventures in missional praying

Lynette Miller writes for Illinois Mennonite Conference’s newsletter, Missional Crossroads. In the March issue, she listed 10 reasons to contact Mennonite Mission Network to receive your personal free copy of Mission Mosaic, a prayer directory that provides information about workers and ministries. Miller’s reasons are reprinted here by permission.

Having your own prayer directory allows you to:

1. Pray for every mission worker by name (which, of course, is the point of the directory).
2. Send birthday greetings to each mission worker.
3. Conduct a geographical tour of the world finding countries where Mission Network personnel are located.
4. Count and pray for Mission Network partners within every country.
5. Find the home congregations that have sent the most Mission Network personnel.
6. Count how many faces or names you recognize.
7. Read the plethora of ministries in which Mission Network personnel are involved. You might have a new idea of something you can do.
8. Give your mouth muscles a physical workout by pronouncing unfamiliar names.
9. Peruse SOOP locations and activities for your next “servication.”
10. Invite friends for a meal celebrating a particular country, and pray for the Mission Network personnel and Christians in that country before your meal.

To receive your free copy of Mission Mosaic, submit the online request form found here. Or e-mail Mosaic@MennoniteMission.net.
