Mennonite Mission Network and its predecessor agencies have engaged in youth ministry in Botswana since the 1985, when Bopaganang 85 (Youth Fest 1985) was held. This festival, co-sponsored with the Spiritual Healing Church, attracted about 200 young people from 20 African-Initiated Churches, who worshipped and played together. Bokgoni Sporting Club, a Mennonite Mission Network partner, continues this focus by investing in the youth of Francistown, Botswana.

Mothusi Kenosi, Bokgoni Sporting Club’s director, describes the organization’s vision as an effort to help youth create a healthy future with life-skills, job opportunities and sports that refresh the mind as well as the body.

The most recent event was a community-building day, held on May 22.
