It’s one of the busiest and most enjoyable parts of the MVS year. We get to talk to a lot of great people, get to know them a little, and then get together as a team to find the perfect job and location for them. It’s satisfying work.
If you are considering doing MVS this year (our terms start in August), it’s a great time for you to start completing your application. If you’re not ready to do that yet, head over to our positions database to get an idea of the kind of placement options that MVS offers.
The MVS application process takes a little longer than other programs and schools you may be applying for. The reason for this is that we’re not just matching you with a job; we’re matching you with a community. So we spend some extra time learning about you, your personality, your skills and interests, and your goals. As a result, we have a strong track record of placing our volunteers in locations and work assignments where they are challenged and can grow personally, spiritually and vocationally.
Because our process takes longer, we encourage people to apply early. Applying early also gives you first chance at a wide range of location and placement options, before they start to fill up.
