We have now been in Ecuador for three days. Until late next week, we will be staying with Peter and Delicia, our local mentors, so we can become oriented and aware of the “ins and outs” of Quito. We have done a lot of exploring and learning about the city. This has included eating lots of good food, visiting parks, meeting new people, and enjoying the culture! Today we went to Centro Historico otherwise known as old town. We had lunch at an Ecuadorian restaurant and the special was noodle soup, chicken wings, rice, and fruit juice. We explored the city and its many shops and attractions. We stopped a few times and tasted traditional Ecuadorian food including ice cream and chocolate. Quito is a very beautiful city and I look forward to exploring and learning more about this great place!
