Horace W. McMillon has served as the pastor of Open Door Mennonite Church in Jackson, Mississippi, since 2006. He serves in a tent-making capacity, meaning he and Monique McMillon, his wife of over 25 years, work full time to provide their own support. Together, they have two young adult children.
Prior to their move to Jackson, McMillon served as the associate pastor of the Community Mennonite Church in Markham, Illinois. Open Door Mennonite Church, in partnership with Mennonite Mission Network, hosts the Jackson Service Adventure Unit. McMillon also leads a weekly Bible study for people in Pakistan, via Facebook Messenger.
McMillon received his B.A. from Oberlin College, with an emphasis in religion and philosophy. He earned his M.A. in theology from Chicago Theological Seminary. He also has Clinical Pastoral Education (CPSP) from Baptist Health Systems. He holds ordinations in both the Anabaptist and Missionary Baptist traditions.
