This is the third article in a three-part series, Nothn2Hard4God. The first article can be found here, and the second article can be found on Mennonite Church USA’s blog.

I was taught to love God. To trust, meditate, pursue and proclaim the Word of God. To pray and practice God’s commands. To let the Word work in my life. To seek the peace of God for everything in life, because God’s peace and grace offers fulfillment. I found it to be true. Tested by many trials I discovered, Nothn2Hard4God! Genesis 18:14 is the scripture I chose to draw near to meditate on and I’ve found that many things are impossible for man but all things are possible for God. Best thing that ever happened to me. Even in the face of life challenges, nothing changes God. This has to be established in the heart prior to life trials… Got Faith?

As an intercessor, I have to believe, trust and pursue God over all life’s challenges. I desire to know God’s purposeful and practical plan, not my own.

To love God is to take God at His Word. He says if we love Him, to keep His commandments (John 14:15)…His principals, His standards. God responds and is committed to spiritual things, not earthly things…the word says to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). God is not subject to life, but is committed to his sovereignty established in himself. We are created to be fulfilled in the character of God. Abraham was established as righteous because he believed God. God has justified us in the life of Christ. Got Faith?

In this life we have to know what we are committed too, having a covenant know our side of the bargain. What belongs to us and what belongs to God. Keeping our part keeps us in harmony with Gods purposeful plan. The contract doesn’t get changed along the way, the covenant was established before the beginning of creation. We don’t get to change anything except for ourselves. That’s the purpose of our free will. Our will has to fit God’s and it’s not in the reverse. The scriptures tells us to draw near to him; not him draw near to us…Got Faith?

My first scripture I learned as a believer was Proverbs 3:5-7, “Trust in the Lord with all of [your] heart and lean not unto your own understanding in all of your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path.” I prayed this scripture in many ways.

God does not operate outside of His Word. Only by His word. Only subject to His word and this is why we have to pray God’s word. We have to apply the scriptures to every circumstance in life. The life of faith has to be established upon the Word of God—this is the life of an intercessor is to believe God and continue in faith.
