ELKHART, Ind. (Mennonite Mission Network) – In her new role as director of Church Relations, Sandy Miller will work to build stronger connections between Mennonite Mission Network and Mennonite congregations across the country.
Miller assumed leadership on March 5. She’ll lead a team dedicated to developing personal relationships with congregations through resources like Ministry Support Teams, mission banks and their accompanying teaching tools and face-to-face contact with Mission Network workers and personnel.
In 2005, Miller came to the Mission Network as Ministry Support Team coach. She has helped develop seven core groups of supporters who work together with the Mission Network to increase prayer, communication, and encouragement for workers while inviting financial support for their ministry.
She also played an instrumental role in organizing the launch of globe mission bank projects through which more than 8,400 children in 328 congregations have given $52,940 to support mission work in Benin, Argentina, Japan and France.
Miller is currently studying part-time at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart. Before coming to the Mission Network, she served for 10 years as minister of worship and music at her home congregation, Yellow Creek Mennonite Church, Goshen, Ind. From 1982-1989 she worked for the former Mennonite Board of Missions in the church relations department. Miller and her husband Mike have three daughters.
