ELKHART, Ind. (Mennonite Mission Network)—Mennonite Mission Network announces the appointment of Sheila S. Yoder as a half-time church relations associate. She began her new role Jan. 3.
Yoder is a Goshen (Ind.) College graduate with experience in facilitating communication between Goshen College and relating churches. In her role with Mission Network, Yoder will connect with congregations in Allegheny, Franconia, Franklin, Lancaster, New York and Virginia conferences.
“I’m excited about continuing to build relationships between Mission Network, our conferences, and their congregations,” Yoder said. “I look forward to learning about the current mission activities in these conferences and exploring ways to enhance our partnerships.”
Yoder served as director of deaf ministries for Mennonite Board of Missions, a Mission Network predecessor agency, from 1984 through 1990.
Yoder most recently worked as an American Sign Language educational interpreter for an elementary school. She has also served as coordinator for the Anabaptist Disabilities Network and as the accessibility resource consultant for the former Mennonite Mutual Aid.
She is married to Myron Yoder and they have two sons, Seth and Justin. She attends College Mennonite Church in Goshen.
