Mission: To restore and conserve the historical functions and vitality of the Rio Grande in Colorado for improved water quality, agricultural water use, riparian health, wildlife and aquatic species habitat, recreation and community safety.
Need: A motivated, energetic person to help with RGHRP Program implementation. Assist with daily program and administration tasks, along with seasonal fieldwork, in this small non-profit. Programs include Riparian Restoration and Streambank Stabilization, In-stream Infrastructure Program, and Water Users and Community Outreach and Education.
Potential Tasks Include:
Small Non Profit Organization Administration: reporting, grant writing, and data analysis.
Field Work: monitoring data collection and new project surveying.
Special Event Organization and Promotion: develop outreach and education materials, communicate with local media, contact and organize volunteers, and coordinate field days.
Education or Experience
- Preferred Bachelors or college studies in Biology, Hydrology, Natural Resources Management, Environmental Management, or similar.
- Strong interest in environmental restoration, small non-profit administration and community education (may substitute for formal studies).
- Two-year term preferred; but open to one-year placement for strong candidates.
