Christliche Dienste, the German Mennonite Voluntary Service Organization, organizes volunteer service placements around the world. You will work in the office of CD in Bammental, Germany and thus contribute to the work of the Kingdom of God.
You will most likely live within an intentional community in Bammental. You are responsible for your own breakfast and dinner; lunch is eaten together. Cooking and washing up are shared tasks.
In the intentional community there is also a garden, which is cultivated together. You will work 40 hours per week. You can arrange your working hours relatively flexibly – but you should always be there between 10:00 and 15:00. Your pocket money is 302€ per month. For breakfast and dinner, you have 45€ per month at your disposal.
You are expected to be part of the Mennonite church in Bammental during your service. There are many opportunities for things to see and do in the surrounding area! Bammental is very close to Heidelberg – one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. There are various options for your free time: For example, you can participate in a local choir, a nearby youth group or become part of a sports club (volleyball, etc.).
Function:
- Answering and forwarding calls as well as mail and emails
- Preparation of the seminars and assistance during the seminars
- Assistance with interviews
- General office work and database maintenance
Term: One year, starting in September or February
Qualifications: German level A2 or B1
Language: German, language classes can be arranged online or in Heidelberg, a city near Bammental.
