Iglesia Anabautista Menonita Unida de Mexico is a religious association of six Mexican conferences registered together for legal coverage.
Iglesia Anabautista Menonita Unida de México (IAMUM) in English, is United Anabaptist Mennonite Church of Mexico. While Mission Network relates most closely with CIEAMM, through Mennonite Church USA area conferences and IAMUM connections, relationships with other conferences are growing.
MISSION: To be the fraternal bond among Anabaptist Mennonite congregations, promoting educational, formative and social programs. To give legal coverage for expansion and growth in all aspects of Christian life, personal and ecclesial, at the national level, with a clear Anabaptist identity.
VISION:To recognize the gifts and ministries of our congregations through good communication and trust that allows us to develop and extend our Anabaptist identity.
Participating conferences include:
Conferencia Cristiana Anabautista Menonita (CCAM) – Based in Tamaulipas, across the border from Brownsville, Texas, these churches were started through the mission efforts of South Texas churches and are members of South Central Conference of Mennonite Church USA, in addition to their Mexican registration.
Conferencia de Iglesias Evangélicas Anabautistas Menonitas de México (CIEAMM) – Located in and around Mexico City and Puebla, CIEAMM began through Franconia Mennonite Conference mission work, though some of the churches were started during the CUMA mission efforts in the 1990s supported by a coalition of mission agencies, including both of Mennonite Mission Network’s predecessor agencies. CIEAMM is cultivating a relationship with Mountain States Conference.
Conferencia de Iglesias Evangélicas Menonitas del Noroeste de México (CIEMNM) – Based in the states of Sinaloa and Sonora, this conference has a direct relationship with Pacific Northwest Conference.
Conferencia Evangélica Misionera de México (CEMM) – This conference consists of Spanish churches that began through the mission work of both the EMC of Canada and the Commission on Overseas Mission of the General Conference Mennonite Church, and also the Mexican Germanic Mennonites from the CME and CMM groups.
Conferencia Menonita De México (CMM) – Based in Cuauhtémoc, this is the General Conference of the German-speaking Mennonite churches in Mexico.
