Service opportunities: Highland Retreat is a summer camp and retreat facility for all ages. Volunteers are welcome from May through September to help with weekend hosting, maintenance, carpentry, and food service.
Lodging: Cottage or full hook-up for RV/travel trailer. Meals are provided.
Service opportunities: Crossing Creeks Farm is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, just 20 minutes from Harrisonburg. This is a 150 acre farm with hilly terrain, great hikingrural, but near towns and universities. Volunteers can expect to live as part of this developing and thriving community of support for residents who suffer from mental illness. Short term and long term volunteers are needed and play an important role. Volunteers help in a variety of waysby assisting the house manager in working with residents to accomplish chores and activities of daily living, socialization and fun activities, shopping and cooking instruction, maintenance, work with other volunteers, facility/program tours, and other opportunities of service that you as an individual may bring and share.
Lodging: Room and board is provided. Cooking and other tasks are communal.
Service opportunities: WCRC is affiliated with Virginia Mennonite Conference and is located near colonial Williamsburg in
southeast Virginia. Facilities include motel-style accommodations, two cottages and a RV campground.
Volunteer work in food service, housekeeping, maintenance and/or with the retreat program. WCRC has service opportunities year-round.
Lodging: RV sites with full hook-up (30 amps) and a guest room for shorter-term volunteers with private bath,
small refrigerator, sink and microwave are available.
