Work
Teams
Work teams support the vision of international church
partners by providing physical and financial resources
to help them construct needed facilities. More importantly,
work team participants walk alongside international
partners, building relationships that can serve as
the beginning of future mission partnerships.
Work teams have helped construct churches in rural
Ghana, a Bible institute facility in Benin, and college
and seminary facilities serving African-Initiated
Churches in West Africa. They come to work for Christ.
But they find Christ already at work through local
Christians.
Construction experience is not necessary. Participants
mostly interact with fellow Christians, visit ministry
locations and worship in local congregations. Work
team members cover their travel costs and give additional
money to cover the local church's construction costs.
Although a few trips are self-funded, most participants
raise the funds through their congregations, family
and friends. The experience allows congregations to
participate in global mission in ways that weren't
possible before.
Accommodations are simple, in accordance with local
settings.
