Kalonda Bible Institute
"Kalonda Bible Institute is the tree nursery of Communauté Mennonite au Congo," says Adolphe Komuesa Kalunga, president of this rapidly growing denomination where 330 pastors attempt to serve 110,000 members in 780 congregations. Located near the church headquarters in Tshikapa, pastors and their families are groomed by six teachers and support staff in the greenhouse of the Bible institute in similar conditions to those in which they will minister after they complete their three years of training.
"Our graduates are willing to serve God anywhere," Komuesa says. "If you send future church leaders to the capital city for a university education they don’t want to return to the hardships of village life"
